Séminaire Langues d'héritage
Your Language Counts! All languages matter in a multilingual society, starting in school.
This Erasmus+ project is dedicated to the development, testing, and implementation of a Heritage Language Education model, launching in three countries (Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands) with 6 languages (Arabic, Persian, Russian, Somali, Turkish and Ukrainian) and 18 teachers. In an increasingly diverse Europe, multilingualism is the norm, offering many opportunities but also presenting challenges for students navigating a school system dominated by a language different from their heritage language. The project coordinator, Elisabeth Schmidt, will present briefly how the project has facilitated cooperation among heritage language teachers and the project outcomes that include a shared platform for HL teachers to exchange experiences and materials, an HLT implementation handbook, and a roadmap for the effective integration of heritage language teaching in schools.
