The syntax of causative auxiliaries in Haitian Creole

The present study examines the syntax of the fe `make' and kite `let' causatives, contrasting the Haitian constructions with French causatives introduced by faire and laisser.  First, I examine the syntax of the Haitian construction, following Kaiser and von Heusinger (2024) in using the parallel Bible corpus. In the second step I compare Haitian and French causatives with respect to the complementation structure of the causative constructions.
